The Centre for Global Change Science

Overview

The Centre for Global Change Science serves as the University of Toronto's focal point for research and education in Global Change Science.

  • The Centre promotes research programmes that aim to better understand and predict the global scale effects of human society on the earth's climate and environment. These programmes integrate across traditional scientific disciplines to enable a more comprehensive understanding of the broad range of interdependent processes that control the evolution of the global environment.
  • The Centre also promotes undergraduate and graduate educational programmes in Global Change Science to train the next generation of researchers and decision makers in this highly interdisciplinary, challenging, and scientifically fascinating field. The Centre for Global Change Science was formally established in September 2005 with the generous support of the University of Toronto's Faculty of Arts and Science Academic Initiatives Fund.
