This weather station is part of the University of Toronto Atmospheric Observatory, or "TAO" for short. This observatory does remote sensing of the atmosphere using a Fourier Transform Infrared Spectrometer which can detect the absorption of sunlight by gases in the atmosphere species. This project is led by Professor Kimberly Strong, who also conducts similar research in Eureka, Nunavut at the Polar Environment Atmospheric Research Laboratory "PEARL". The TAO weather station is located at the McLennan Physical Laboratory, 60 St George St Toronto, ON, CANADA, at 43.66° North Latitude and 79.4° West Longitude. The station resides on the rooftop of the building at 174 m above sea level (61 m above street level) and the pressure reading is NOT adjusted to sea level. Please note that the wind sensor is installed on the south east corner and will be influenced by obstructions on the roof (astronomical domes, radio antenna and building itself).Forecast: Mostly cloudy with little temperature change.
