Mark's Cowboy Junkies Page

I've seen the Cowboy Junkies three times in concert. The first time was in June, 2001, at the Horseshoe Tavern in Toronto. The second time was in July of the same year in Madison, Wisconsin at the Barrymore Theatre with my friend Clement who lives in Milwaukee.

Margo Timmins, the lead singer, has a tradition of meeting with fans after shows, and in Madison, we mustered up the courage to introduce ourselves. Margo autographed my new copy of "Waltz Across America" (right). We also had this photograph taken.

I saw them again as part of the 2001 Edmonton Folk Music Festival. I only had tickets for the Sunday evening session, and as such didn't get a good seat. The Junkies were the first show of the evening, and most of the crowd were still walking around and talking away during their too short set. I left, very disappointed, rather than have to endure the likes of Great Big Sea.
