Big Primpin'
Lisa takes a break from covariances and
gets fabulous.

Today
I blew off the morning talks of the conference to take in some art nouveau.
I went to the Alphonse Mucha museum,
conveniently located a few steps from where the conference is. I'd been there
before (5 years ago), so this time I decided to take the art with music, and
threw on some Kruder & Dorfmeister. Completely anachronistic, but very
cool.Last night I went to dinner with
one of my supervisors and my friend English Steve, and oddly enough we ended up
at a restaurant that my friend Sten and I ate at on that fateful trip 5 years
ago. $10 for a huge meal and two glasses of red wine, mmhmmm!
I'm hanging out with English Steve too
much because I find myself reading and thinking everything in an English accent.
English Steve's accent is that hilarious kind where some r's are pronounced like
w's ("it's not a vewy good moddddelll"), and where spurious r's appear elsewhere
("datar analysis"). Love it.Now I
have to get ready for the conference banquet, which will be held at the
Bethlehem Chapel. Judging from the big deal that the Czech organizers made of
the opening ceremony, my guess is that this banquet will be a very fancy affair.
Which means i'll have to brave the cold and throw on my cute Isaac Mizrahi "wear
to weddings" sandals and my cute Anthropologie skirt. Except... the sandals
mean that I can't wear tights. But it's too cold to go bare-legged.
....Shit.
