back from the dead

my server's been down.

So I haven't been able to update ye olde blog at all. I was gonna post a picture of me in my halloween costume, but it's just too embarrassing. I'm almost done my 3rd Kittyville hat ; this one's for my pal Danielle who used to bring me popcorn when we shared an office and is currently rocking the vote in Ames, Iowa. Yesterday I found this bitchin' postcard to add to the package. It has a picture of a little 50's girl knitting, and it says, "Who's going to kick your ass? ...A girl." hee.

I also did a bunch of gauge swatches and worked on my mittens. No pictures though, cos I'm lazy. A gratuitous kitten picture never hurts, though.
Look who discovered my yarn!

That's a pile of yarn from a fugly sweater that I unravelled months ago. I turned out that it wasn't just the sweater that was fugly, but the yarn as well, so it's just been lying in a big ramen-noodle-looking pile since about may. Makes for a great kitty bed, though.

Well, okay, here's my halloween costume:

I dressed as a 1960's space age character. Notice the antenna on my head; that's my proudest component of the costume. I made the cuffs and collar out of a witch hat that I got at Shopper's Drug Mart, and I got the skirt at Kensington for 10 bucks. That purple wig is totally the shit; I need to wear it again sometime. That's my friend Sue next to me, dressed as a glam vampire. Sue is cool and reads knit blogs even though she's not a knitter.
