I have gone and caught a sniffle.

The last thing I needed during prepare-to-leave-for-8-weeks-of-traveling-and-also-finish-a-schoolyear-and-publish-a-paper week was a cold, and that's what I got. I am a total mouth-breather today, my skin has reverted back to when I was 13, and my lips are all chapped. Man, I used to be so cute.

In other news, yesterday I chatted with the bossman about his recent trip to Ethiopia, and now I've added another destination to my list of places I need to visit before I die.

Speaking of plans and schemes, let's take a moment to revist the India checklist:

_ Purchase malaria vax, mosquito repellant, and diarrhea meds

X Get my cat de-testicled
X Find a summer cat-sitter
_ Raise $3,000
_ Publish a paper
_ Purchase Lonely Planet: India
_ Purchase loose-fitting, low-quality clothing
_ Purchase sandals that can survive the monsoon and be dragged through, if necessary, excrement
X Sell addictive candy bars to my friends and neighbors


Hm...there are not that many x's on this list. But I still have 4 days of preparation left, so who's worried?
