Wha Happen?
(Last night of
revelry...)
tonight was my brother Toby's (<-- that's my
other brother, the one who doesn't have a baby) last night at home, so we all
decided to go to a pub for some drinks. Mom and I had 2 martini-type fancy
drinks while the menfolk had beer, and when we got home we just sorta kept on
going with the drinks, until we were all pretty much shitfaced. That was good
times, and we talked about all kinds of stuff, me and Toby and our Dad, from the
war in Iraq to the Tsunami to how Kerry lost the election to youth hostelling in
Europe to what it was like for our grandparents to live in Germany in the 1940s.
American/Canadian people tend to think that we can't talk critically/honestly
about such things when we're killing the last of the brewskis, but those people
are wrong.I'm sad about tomorrow,
because I'm going to miss my brother a lot, but I'm excited for him because he's
going to Kitt Peak observatory next week, to observe a comet, and that's pretty
badass.I've decided that I'm going to
get through the long winter by knitting thrummed
mitts, this
thing, and this purse in
bright yellow.
