breathe life into this heart
I stole that song lyric from my friend Leah, who
played her songs for us last night in lieu our church membership meeting.
Actually since we're all members now, our meetings are supposed to be over, but
we keep meeting up anyways, and last night Leah invited us to a performance at
the Free Times Cafe. It was pretty awesome, and if she hadn't been so funny, I
totally would have started to cry during some of those songs. So, if you're in
Toronto, keep those eyes peeled for Leah Hunter, who
rocks.Unfortunately though I had to
miss the Lettuce Knit party, which sounded very fun. Oh well, at least it kept
me from buying more yarn. : )I
love Christmastime but the social calendar and all this
finishing-of-school-stuff is driving everyone, including me, to fatigue.
Ironic, since all these songs I'm listening to right now are about hope and new
life...the idea behind this holiday is so opposite what this holiday ends up
being in practice. Sigh... well, the extra time spent with friends is feeling
very good right now, so I'm purposely trying to avoid the schmoozing and heavy
drinking events in exchange for more time quality time with people I care about.
I wanted to start a great big cast-on
of Christmas knitting this week, but what with school and social holiday stuff
and whatnot, all I managed to start was socks for my
pop:
I lost my 5th sock
toothpick needle! That sucks. Of course since the sock
needles have a new project on them, that means i finally finished my very first
pair of socks:
They go nicely with my sexy flannel
pajama pants, eh. I really like those stripes. In fact, I've half a mind to
make these
someday. In happy news, I found my
3.5 mm DPNs, which have been MIA for a few weeks now. Actually I didn't really
find them at all -- after I searched absolutely everywhere, Binky the Cat last
night started messing with one of my shelves, and when he fell and knocked a
bunch of stuff off, somehow my needles fell out of the mess on the floor.
Crazy!
There's my helpful little guy, wearing his
"wtf?" look that I so love.
