Lousy Smarch Weather

I can't believe how cold it still is in this city. What gives?

Things are going well, so I don't really know why I worry so much. I guess the reasons are complex, but I know that February's tendency to last into March has something to do with it.

Well, I was granted some rest. First, I had a meeting with my supervisors, and it looks like my paper will be ready to submit next week. Hurrah! Second, I got my tax return done (with the help of a heroic man ...who doesn't read this blog, but just in case, you know who you are). Third, I got my friday tutorials over with on monday, which means I didn't have to freak out over preparing them on Thursday, so tonight after my dance class I had dinner slowwwwly and then knitted. I'm almost done with the turtleneck shrug, and it's about time because I really need some juicy orange to get me through the rest of winter.

I'm getting quite used to this no-TV thing. The quiet is nice, and after the quiet I rediscover good albums that have been hiding on my shelf since I got my iPod.

Like this wonderful Cesarea Evora album, which also kind of matches my orange yarn. When we were living in Germany best friend Sten and I used to sit around his kitchen listening to this and drinking cheap wine out of chipped mugs. Aww, that kitchen...it was dirty and crowded (he had 12 roommates) and full of the accumulated crap of many, many tenants, but it was cozy and warm and lovely, and man, did I laugh my butt off around that big table. Mm, memories.
