Happy Saling

Raising funds is hard work, but wicked fun.

I'm busting my ass these days trying to get the money I need to go to India. Dollars and Euros and even Shekels are coming my way, and all kinds of people who I never expected are throwing money at me. It's crazy! But it's not enough, and I'm getting slightly worried. Oh Lisa, she always gets herself into pickles like this.

That said, I'm pretty sure this one will all work out. On Saturday, we had a big bad (bad meaning good) yard sale downtown. So fabulous! Apparently all of Toronto was out strolling on that loveliest of spring days, and the city was in a good mood for once, and all the nice people coming out of Kensington stopped by our sale and bought our stuff. Even better, lots of people, after they carried their new acquisitions home, came back and brought us more of their old stuff, which we then resold. woot.

I can't believe I made money off just sitting in the sun with me friends. Not only did I make dough for India, I also got a bit of a tan, which will be good next week when I'm chillin with the Czechs. A win-win situation, indeed.

I also made these cute brown arm warmers from the Weekend Knitting book.

The yarn is a merino that I got at a kickass yarn store in Boston over the summer. Yay wool.
They are soft and stretchy and, to quote the manolo, super-fantastic. I wouldn't mind keeping these, but they are going to be auctioned off at yet another fabulous india fundraiser next week.
