plugging along

My Rowan Tweed that i got on eBay came yesterday:

It was $33 US for 10 balls, plus a bunch of dutes and handling fees... I'm too lazy to do the math, but I think that's still lots cheaper than the exorbitant prices we pay for Rowan goodness here in Canada. This yarn is going to become a scarf for my favorite aunt, who is very sick. In a weird way I'm hoping that I will finish it to coincide with her recovery, if it happens. I was kind of thinking that maybe I could pray for her as I knit it, because praying is pretty much the only thing I can do.

I need more colors for the scarf though, which means that another (cha-ching ching) trip to Romni will be in order soon.

Last night I watched Shadowlands, (beautiful movie about C.S. Lewis and his romance with his wife, Joy) and finished my first kitten-handling glove. I mean, er, the left pop-top for the Sacred & Profance Convertible gloves:

So now I associate these mitts with C.S. Lewis, which isn't a bad association at all.
