you know this boogie is for real

socks-knitting, booty-shaking, hair-dying.... it's been a good week.

Wow, this has been a pretty stress - free week. I actually got a bunch of work done without freaking out, and was left with time to get a haircut and hang out at a coffee shop today. I got my hair died permanently purple; the color rocks, plus the stylist (Daniel, at Shampoo, in Kensington) got my sometimes-wavy hair to wave for real, and he finally made my bangs choppy, the way I like em, and the way the lady at Topcuts refuses to cut them.

I've had plans every night this week, so this week I cancelled my existing plans in the name of rest, and instead watched The Usual Suspects with my fantabulous bag-making pal Sue This gave me time to make a bit of progress on the sock:

It's fun, with the multi colors, and it goes ever so much faster than the green church sock. I think these might become a gift.

Well, the India Fundraiser kicked ass, and even though only a measly one of the people I work with attended (Matt, you rock). I think we must have raised a sizeable chunk of change, because the place was quite full. We sold "I (heart) Calcutta" buttons, and i bought one, which I then promptly lost. The people who performed were all very good, and no, it wasn't all "Happy Birthday Jesus, hope you like crap" kind of music, either. Unfortunately DJ J-Sonic (aka my friend Jason...you know, it took me an embarrassingly long time to "get" that). was booted off the stage by the band before Lisa and her purple coif could bust a sweet move. E'en so, when I saw my friend Luke getting down with his funky, funky self long after the music ended, I thought to myself, you know, nobody throws a party like the Christians. Teehee!
