Case of the Mondays

Oh, the weekend just goes by too fast. But it's been good. On Saturday afternoon, I sent my two supervisors what will hopefully be the LAST FRICKIN DRAFT of my paper before it's submitted to the journal. After that, Rebekah and I decided to go to a pub for some knitting, and maybe a drink or two. Har har... by 11 p.m., we were more or less loaded and genuinely surprised at how fast time at flown by. But ooh, I got a bunch done, like the back of the Cache-Coer from Weekend Knitting:

Unfortunately that picture doesn't show the cute purl-dot pattern, nor my badass short row shaping.
Moreover--- it's green! That green Lamb's Pride rocks my world. This pattern is very well written. That's because it's by Veronik Avery, and she kicks ass.

I also turned the heel on one of my SoX Nouveau!

I had a few glasses of wine in me when I turned that heel, and I still made no mistakes. Hell yeah.

On Sunday I discovered the best book store ever, BMV at Yonge and Eglington, where I got not one, but THREE brand new books for half price:

I'm a fan of Kevyn Aucoin and I've been wanting Making Faces for a long time. I haven't played around with makeup in a while...I should return to this hobby.

I've also been meaning to buy God in the Alley, and I can't believe it only cost 4 bucks. It's about Christian work with the poor, specifically the poor in Toronto, and what that really means. I'm so excited to read this!

And thirdly, I badly needed a new Bible, by which I mean one where the spine wasn't falling apart and which was not the German Luther translation -- and I got one, leatherbound and fancy, for 10 bucks. Yay! Unlike my huge big fat NRSV, which I love and use for study and writing-in, this NKJV one is little and sturdy and thus very portable, which is exactly what I needed.
