Michaela Imelda Hegglin

Welcome to my homepage!

I started my scientific career in a dark laboratory at ETH Zurich studying fluorescence in sulphuric acid solutions for my diploma thesis, but from where I escaped into the sky taking in-situ aircraft measurements of ozone and reactive nitrogen as part of the SPURT campaign.

From ETH Zurich I moved to the University of Toronto, using my experimental background to assess the performance of chemistry-climate models in the upper troposphere and lower stratosphere within the C-SPARC project. During this time, I found a new interest in the use of satellite observations such as those from the ACE-FTS, as well as in the study of interactions between climate change and the ozone layer and their impact on UV radiation.

If you follow the links on the left, you’ll find more information on my research interests, publications, talks and a full CV.
