Venue and Travel Information

Venue:

The CCMVal workshop will be held at the University of Toronto, Canada. Further informaiton about the exact location will be posted as it becomes available.

Travel:

Most people will choose to fly to Toronto Pearson International Airport, code YYZ (http://www.gtaa.com/en/home/). It has direct flights from major North American and European cities. There is also a small airport downtown known as the Toronto City Centre Airport, which is served by Porter Airlines (http://www.flyporter.com/) which flies to New York, Chicago, Montreal and Halifax. For Americans it could be cheaper to fly to Buffalo and take a bus to Toronto, but this would be much less convenient.

From Pearson Airport, you can either take a taxi or public transportation to your accommodation. The private-run Airport Express bus is not particularly recommended.

Taxi: from the airport to any of the hotels listed the drive takes approximately 30-40 minutes. It costs around $60.00 CAN/direction.

Public transportation: Cost $2.75 CAN /direction. You will need to pay cash and no change is provided. This low-cost alternative to a taxi is fairly easy to use.

The 192 Airport Rocket bus route provides all-day accessible express bus service between Pearson International Airport and Kipling Station (Bloor-Danforth Subway line).

Follow the signs to Ground Transportation and look for the TTC (Toronto Transit Commission) bus stop. Service operates from approximately 5:30 am to 2:00 am, seven days a week. One-way travel time is approximately 20 minutes.

At Kipling Station there is a free transfer to the subway system, no extra fare required. From Kipling Station it takes about 20 minutes to get to the St. George subway station, which is where the Holiday Inn Midtown is located.

Please see subway interactive map: http://www3.ttc.ca/Subway/interactivemap.jsp

Should you have any questions about getting to your hotel by using the subway system, please don't hesitate to contact the SPARC office (sparc@atmosp.physics.utoronto.ca).
